There are many ways to get creative with AI image generators. Today I'm going to be experimenting with the formatting of today's date as a style reference to create a series of images that tell a story, and have a consistent visual theme.
Todays date, Friday June 7, 2024.
Finding the Right Format
The list of ways I could type the date in (as an American) are outlined:
06072024
6072024
672024
0672024
6724
I quickly found out that Midjourney takes the first 0 off in the --sref code. So my first bullet point of "06072024" actually rendered me "6072024".
That changed my list slightly down to 4 options instead of 6 for my style reference.
Testing Each Date
I chose a specific phrase to test each date with, to see which style reference I liked best.
The prompt: "A raccoon smelling a flower."
--sref 6072024
--sref 60724
--sref 6724
--sref 672024
Experimenting with --sref 672024
My mood today has me really falling in love with the fairytale tambiance of the last one I tried! Save the best for last, right? That's not to say the others aren't good, I quite liked all of them really, but I wanted to see how magical today can get, so let's explore a few other prompts with this --sref! Each of the titles below was the prompt used with this sref to generate an image.
Now, let's go on a camping trip together!
Misty Mountains
A Frog on a Lily Pad
Dragonfly
Reading a Book in a Hammock
Camping Tent Under the Stars
What do you think?
Hopefully you had fun following along on the journey to discovering the consistent style and executing a mini story through a series of pictures. Would you go on this adventure with me into this enchanted forest?
